The Brick Drum House is composed of two contrasting forms: a smooth, rounded volume in pale plaster and a cylindrical tower of exposed brick that rises beside it. The interplay between the soft curve and the solid, textured drum gives the house a strong yet welcoming presence from the street.

At the upper level, a deep-set balcony with slender railings sits within the curved frame, shaded by the overhang above. A planter running across the first floor lets creepers cascade over the porch. Below, a tall timber door and full-height glazing open the ground floor to the front garden, and the forecourt is paved in stone with grass joints.

At dusk, warm light glows through the glazing and from beneath the planter, revealing the layered depth of the facade and turning the house into a lantern in its garden.
