Lantern House

A crisp white house organised as a strong horizontal frame. The upper floor is faced with tall vertical fins that soften the light reaching the rooms and give the facade its rhythm, and at dusk the fins glow from behind like a lantern.

A deep cantilevered roof shades the ground floor, where glazing opens the living spaces to a broad lawn. A sculptural tree anchors the garden, and a stone-paved drive leads to the covered porch.
